Saturday Small Talk

It’s Saturday. You made it! I’m playing for a wedding this weekend, but mostly hope to spend a bunch of time in the hammock with a book. I’m re-reading the Harry Potter series–it feels perfect for summer! Just the right amount of light and happy and engaging. What are you reading?

In case you missed it…how to freeze blueberries (and most other berries, also).

Happy Saturday! It’s a big one for me.

1. It’s my birthday, and I love, love, love, love my birthday. I embrace this. Celebrate anything and everything, I say.

2. I’m doing a triathlon this morning! When I realized my birthday was the same date as Winona Lake‘s annual triathlon, I knew I had to do it. It’s the perfect first (maybe only?) race of the year!

What are you up to today? Any fun plans for the weekend?

In case you missed it…. sausage, onion, and green pepper egg cups and making your own photo yearbook.

How was your short week after Memorial Day? I don’t know about you, but it’s nice to be at another weekend already. We’re in Sarnia, ON, this weekend celebrating my cousin and his soon-to-be-wife’s wedding. I love celebrating love, so this promises to be a good weekend.

Folks, it’s a crazy weekend. I worked last night, and I’m spending all of today accompanying a dozen junior high kiddos at Solo and Ensemble. Thankfully, tonight and tomorrow afternoon promise to be relaxing and enjoyable. Three cheers!

Sunday Small Talk

Yesterday was so full of all things wonderful. We started the day by canning some applesauce. Bob graciously volunteered to finish up the process (thank you!) so I could go horseback riding with some old friends (thanks again!).We wrapped up our day with wings at BWW and a Michigan Tech hockey game at Ferris State. WE WON. Go Tech.

In other news, the colors are almost all off the trees up here. It’s been a GORGEOUS fall. I have no complaints.
