Tacos are an easy weeknight staple to have in your arsenal. Brown burger, add seasoning, assemble tacos. Done and done. Dinner in 20 minutes or less! The only downside: the questionable stuff I can’t pronounce in the seasoning packet that adjusts the color and keeps it from clumping. Enter DIY taco seasoning.
In less than 10 minutes, you can have your own taco seasoning using spices you most likely have in your pantry–no sketchy ingredients required! Since this batch will season 4 pounds of burger meat, you’ll be set for awhile. Store in an air tight container, and it will keep until you make tacos again.
- 4 Tbs Chili Powder
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 tsp Oregano
- 2 tsp Paprika
- 2 Tbs. Cumin
- 1 Tbs. Salt
- 1 Tbs. Pepper
- Mix all spices in an airtight jar.
- To make tacos, brown and drain burger. Add 2 1/2 Tbs spice blend and 2 Tbs. water to burger. Stir.
- Serve with favorite taco shells and toppings!
