‘Tis the season for all of the holiday parties. People! Celebration! It’s the best of all the things! It can require a lot of time, though. Bringing a savory dish to one party, dessert to another, and picking up a … Continue reading
So far this Christmas vacation, I have….
…taken a few naps. On the couch. Wrapped in a quilt. The best.
…wrapped presents, watched Elf, and decorated a few Christmas cookies.
…met Emily for breakfast at the Blue Heron. Her most recent post is exquisite.
…gone running. No more cast for this girl. Not only am I walking, I’m running. I have sparkly visions of races in my future.
…finished a knitting project.
…started reading One Thousand Gifts, by Ann Voskamp. It’s beautiful.
…made these (recipe forthcoming):
I wanna know: What have YOU done so far this Christmas? Share a favorite or two!
There’s snow on the ground. Christmas records on the record player. The tree is up. There are gift exchanges. Christmas cookies. Choir rehearsals. Family parties. Pilgrimages to the homeland. Happiness.
It’s a wonderful time of year. I really do love it.
I’m putting forth a concerted effort to ooze every minute of enjoyment out of this month. So many years have gone by that I get caught up in the busyness of the Christmas and before I know it, the season has passed me by. Some things that I intend to fully and completely relish in this December:
- Christmas caroling
- Gift shopping and wrapping
- Snowshoeing. I. Can’t. Wait.
- Baking Christmas goodies
- Movie watching…lots of movie watching
I wanna know: What are you most looking forward to this Christmas time?
It feels like it’s been a bipolar day. A few bummy parts, but they were followed almost immediately by at least two awesome occurrences. Score!
This morning, I woke up to a torrential downpour (thus killing my kayaking plans..)
BUT ….work was way productive this morning.
AND I got so much done!
AND I had leftover homemade pizza for lunch 🙂
We had a long meeting at work this afternoon.
BUT…. I went to Michigan City to have dinner with a friend and his girl 🙂
AND dinner=blueberry crepes. Happiness.
AND they fed me banana bread. After they found the knife to cut it…
I got pulled over on the way home. By a cop. With sirens. AH!
BUT, I didn’t get a ticket or even a written warning.
AND I had two great phone conversations.
AND, when I stopped at McDonalds for an ice cream cone (stress eating. pure and simple. the cop freaked me out), I was handed a free chocolate shake.
AND my roommates make me laugh.
AND it’s Friday tomorrow.
AND it’s the start of a long weekend.
