I love adding sprouts to my salads and sandwiches. It adds a bit of crunch. It adds an earthy flavor. They are rich in antioxidants, full of vitamins, and high in omega 3s, which aren’t just trendy–they’re good for you.
Buying sprouts can get costly if you eat them in the quantities that I do. Never fear. I am here to save the day! With just a small amount of supplies, you can grow your own sprouts right in your own kitchen.
You will need 4 things for sprout growing success:
- A mason jar
- Some scrap screen
- Sprout seeds (check out your local health food store, bulk food store, or co-op. I have a mixed blend, and it’s yummy!)
- A rim for your mason jar
Assemble, like so:
After the 24 hrs is up, rinse them:
Happy sprout growing!
